Book Signing with Susan G. Mathis

The book signing event is at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 22
at the Cornwall Brothers Store Museum, 36 Market Street, Alexandria Bay.

Watertown native Susan G. Mathis will be at the Cornwall Brothers Store Museum to introduce and sign copies of her debut novel, The Fabric of Hope: An Irish Family Legacy. After many years of writing non-fiction works, Ms. Mathis, impassioned by extensive research into her own family’s history, has published a new work of fiction.

The novel is the story of an 1850s Irish immigrant and a 21st century single mother who are connected by faith, family and a quilt. Spanning time and place, this intriguing contemporary, yet historical novel weaves a tale that immediately pulls readers into the story and engages them with both characters and plot. A very special quilt and Irish family heirloom ties two women from different centuries; an amazing tale of two women finding hope where there seemed to be none. The Fabric of Hope by Susan G. Mathis is an inspiring read.

Ms. Mathis’ is working on a second novel, Katelyn’s Choice, set in the Thousand Islands. The reader is introduced to twenty-year-old Katelyn Kavanagh, who, while working on Pullman Island, overhears a possibly damaging conversation involving George Pullman’s guest, President Ulysses S. Grant. She knows she can’t tell anyone. She could lose her job—and endanger the president’s 1872 reelection—and jeopardize her relationship with the man of her dreams. Still, the scandalous news just keeps begging to be told… This will be the first in a series of novels set in the Thousand Islands.

Susan G. Mathis lives with her husband Dale in Colorado Springs, Co.
