River Ramblings 2025
Thursday September 4th, 12pm. “Time Tested Tees”
Favorite T-Shirts have a back story. Wear or bring that Tee you just can’t part with and tell jus why. Perhaps it is a tee quilt made to capture many memories.
Thursday September 11th, 12pm. “Shoals I have Known, Part 2”
This topic was such a hit in 2024 that we’ve brought it back for more. Open to boaters who had the misfortune of finding themselves high and dry. Tell us your adventures that may have been scary, expensive or has become a family legend!
Thursday September 18th, 12pm. “Unsung Heroes”
Meet community members or share your own story of the rewards of working behind the scenes to keep the streets attractive, provide for those who welcome a helping hand, promote K-12 activities to enrich, and educate children.
ATHS will host another exciting season of River stories. River Ramblings: a Lunch-time Series invites the public to hear and share colorful stories and tales of life in the Thousand Islands. Now in its sixth season, River Ramblings is a forum to reflect upon and enjoy the adventures of River life. The experience concludes with casual conversation.
River Ramblings takes place at the Cornwall Brothers Store Museum, 36 Market Street, Alexandria Bay. The series will begin September 5, and continue through September 26th., Thursdays at noon. The ATHS hopes to create lasting personal connections through story telling, and to engage people in the social and cultural history of our region.
“Our River Ramblings series has been very well received: fun conversations about various parts of River history shared among all, and we will continue and expand them this year.” — John McCullough
